Publishing a book is every writer’s dream, and the process is only getting easier. Getting your book published used to require involving a publisher. These days it’s getting increasingly easy for almost anyone to publish their own novel without any industry connections through self-publishing. Anyone can self-publish their own ebook and sell it on Amazon and other websites! This infographic lays out a few self-publishing tips and tricks to help your book sell copies and gain a following!
There were a few more assorted tips and tricks regarding self-publishing that I found in my research that I wasn’t able to include. For example, offering preorders on your book tends to increase the overall sales rather than not offering them. Many independent authors aren’t taking advantage of this feature and their sales are suffering, so don’t be one of them! Additionally, if your book is non-fiction, especially about a more rare area of information, people are willing to pay more than double the average price. While with fiction, readers tend to believe that there are plenty of fish in the sea, a non-fiction book can be seen as educational and essential. That knowledge comes with added value to the customers.
While all of these tips and pointers are designed to help you do better, don’t expect your first book to be a best-seller right away! Writing, editing, and publishing a book takes experience and skill. With these tips, your book will get the most attention from the best fit of readers. Good luck, and happy writing!
